I have chosen to site the space beside an isolated Finnish lake. A country as far north as Finland has extensive sunlight hours during summer, but sunlight is not too harsh. Some concerns siting the building here are waterborne insects, cold weather during winter, and access, all of which will have to be resolved.
The massing model shows an initial exploration of the forms of the space, which is set into a hillside, and extends out in two 'wings' to take full advantage of the views of the lake.
